Keep calm and blog on. Add that to your weekly mantra.

Why? Websites with blogs maintain more traffic and generate more leads than other sites. This is because these websites are constantly creating new content relevant to Google searches. The more quality content that your website creates, the more searchable it becomes.

If that’s not a reason to continue to blog then we don’t know what is. Here are a few more reasons why we love to blog and tips to help your business generate leads through this simple but fun process.

Lead generation Tip 1: Add CTA’s to your blogs

CTA’s or call-to-actions are a simple and easy way to convert traffic into leads. Every blog post you write is an indexed page, meaning the Googlebot (software that Google sends out to collect information to add to the massive Google index) has added your blog post to the pile of searchable content.

On every blog post, you have the opportunity to convert traffic into a lead, you can do so by channeling that traffic through a CTA. At the bottom of each blog post put a CTA button (like the one we have at the bottom of this blog). The call-to-action should be an offer that includes useful content such as: ebooks, webinars or free assessments, once clicked users will be redirected to a form. This will allow visitors to fill out their information, and receive their free offer.

You now have exchanged awesome information with the visitor, the hope is that visitor may share your content with others through social media, their email and or other sources. As soon as that form is filled out you are on your way to a visitor-to-lead conversion.

Not every reader of your blog will convert into a lead, but it is a good start. By having premium content available to visitors, lead generation will come naturally!

Lead generation Tip 2: Share you blogs

Once you have written your high quality content filled blog, it is time to get that content out there. Use all of your businesses social media channels, tailoring the tag lines for each and get sharing that blog.

As a business, you will need to figure out what social media platforms work for you.  In other words, what social media platforms your customers use and actively engage on. Always monitor which blogs get shared or read the most, this will tell you what content is on track and useful to your customer.

Don’t forget to also include social sharing buttons on your blog post, this way you will never miss an opportunity for more people to tell their world how great your posts are.

Lead generation Tip 3: Create seasonal blogs

Another way to boost lead generation through blogging is to create seasonal blogs around a time of year or holiday. Not only will it serve as great content for your website and show you are ‘tuned in’, it could provide a great search opportunity on search engines.

Now that we are entering fall blog topics could range from:Getting your business back on track this Fall” to “How to organize this Fall”, or “Simple ways to engage your staff for the new season.” These are all relevant blog topics for a business that focus around a time of year, seasonality allows you to deliver topical content to your customer at the right time.

Don’t forget to stay relevant to your audience and add in some SEO magicso that you can start obtaining leads through your blogs.
