We are closing in on Christmas - 9 days! This is the time when we all start to panick about Christmas presents, but are also very welcoming to the influx of Holiday season content on our social media.

Businesses across the globe are in the middle of their Christmas social media campaigns, and you should too join in on the spirit of the holidays.

Here are some tips that will help you run a great christmas social media campaign.

Run a contest

So you are a little late in joining the Christmas campaign race, no worries, a great way to stand out is to run a contest. A-go-to-option is always the 12 days of Christmas, but we’ve passed that mark so it’s time to start thinking of a one-time giveaway. You can run your contest off a service or product, think of what customers want the most and dangle it out there for their chance to win.

The best way to give your contest the viral push it needs? Run a Facebook Ad, if your giveaway is enticing enough, it will take off virally from there. Hello new potential customers and leads.

Create great imagery

According to HubSpot, 51% of shoppers get gift ideas from Facebook. That is a HUGE number and pairs well for your visibility on the platform. But, first you will need the perfect shareable graphic. You will also need to dress up your cover photos and profile pictures to better reflect the season at hand.

You can make your own holiday shareable graphic using the online platform Canva. They have free templates or you can take inspiration from all of the advertisements and graphics around you. Start pinning (Pinterest) the inspiration and we know you’ll find your way.

Your graphic can be used across social media platforms and for ads (if you choose to go that way). Remember your social content shouldn’t all look like an ad, balance things with fun content and even some customer reviews.

Use your blog

Everyone is running 10 top this and that at the moment and if you aren’t clicking out of curiosity then marketers across the world are wrong. Tops 10s (or 5s, or 25s), especially niche top 10s, are a great way to get users clicking off of your social media page and on to your website.

You blog doesn’t have to be Top 10 themed, there are many ways you can apply the holiday season and the idea of purchase into a blog. But, you do need to be blogging, consider that those marketers who are prioritize their blogs enjoy 13x more positive ROI. The bottom line is to have fun. There are a lot more happy people out there, then there are scrooges. People love the magic of the season and if you can offer something through your social media platforms that will put a smile on their face, then you are doing a great job.
