Lead ads have quickly become our favourite new social media tool for lead generation and for good reason. They are simple, quick and effective.

Facebook originally introduced this paid lead generation tool in June and marketers across the world have been praising the ROI of the tool ever since.

With lead ads in your Facebook marketing arsenal, you can start growing your lead pipeline inviting users to sign-up, subscribe, learn more, apply now, get a quote or download your offer directly from your Facebook page.

How a lead ad works

A lead ad looks like any other Facebook ad, however when a potential customer clicks on the lead ad, a form appears where the users information (information they’ve shared with Facebook previously) gets automatically populated. Making lead ads a quick two click process for users.

Users do have the option to edit their contact information before they submit the form, Facebook is intent on respecting user privacy. Once the form has been submitted, the contact info will be sent directly to your business. If you work from a CRM a web hook can be seamlessly integrated with the lead ads.

You have the ability to customize the form, and are able to include different types of fields like multiple choice and open-ended questions.

Why we love it

The ease, the reach, the targeting and it can work for any business.

The ease

Forms auto-fill directly on Facebook. There is no need to enter any information or leave the platform, users can get your offer in essentially two steps. Works for the lazy and the savvy.

The reach and the targeting

When you are creating your new lead ad, you will be able to control the audience, placement, optimization and delivery time. Essentially it allows you to find the people who want to hear from your business.

Works for any business

Lead ads can be effective for any type of business, for instance, we know our real estate and automotive clients have the potential to do really well here. As long as your offer makes sense with one of the six calls to action, your business can generate leads using the tool. Facebook has taken the time to brake down exactly what type of use works best with certain industries and services, click here to access that list

This is how Facebook explains lead ads

Some lead ad concerns

Lead ad aren't perfect. If you are choosing to use them, you should consider that you may in some cases be compromising the quality of your leads and reducing traffic to your website and landing page.

Our other issue, is that the program does not yet seamlessly integrate with all CRM systems. The list of integratable CRMs is growing, but for those not using the right CRM, you will need to physically download your list of leads daily.
