Instagram introduces dates on posts

Instagram lovers, you will now know the EXACT date that you and your friends posts were published.

For years, Instagram has used "weeks" to mark the date of a post, meaning if a user really wanted to find out when a post appeared they'd have to do math.

With this new update the Instagram app, shows the month, date and year (if not 2016) of the post under the user name and tagline.

If you haven't seen the update on your own App yet, that's because Instagram is slowly rolling this new feature out. Half our office has it, the other half does not.

In early February, Instagram also added a display feature to show how many times a video has been viewed on the app. This number appears below the post and above your name and Instagram has said that the addition acts as "the best way to show how the community is engaging with video." For big brands, this is a huge metric to track the value of their content on Instagram versus other platforms. Over the last year, the amount of people watching videos on the platform has jumped by 40%.

What are your thoughts on the update? Is Instagram changing for the better?
