Updates in Inbound 2016

It has been a while since I had something to say that my team hadn't more efficiently already told you. The pressure of being in an environment with many brilliant minds is one thing, being the person that has to lead that team is a complete other. I am always in awe, often racing to catch up but always very proud of their work and accomplishments. The critical thinking featured on this blog is no exception. This is very good content.

I am checking in with you because I am in Boston for Inbound, and it has been quite a week. I preach honesty economy, and I will tell you, honestly, that this is an emotionally-charged conference. The result of the presidential election has charged this room of 19,000 people. I am Canadian, you could call me an outsider looking in, and the absence of unity is stark. It is a time in history that I will never forget, I can imagine that I will sit at a table with daughters and granddaughters one day telling them about the night I sat in a restaurant in Harvard Square and watched one of the most important moments in US history that I have been alive to witness.

But the election isn't why I am in Boston, I am here because my love for HubSpot is unwavering and I am so elated to be attending Inbound 2016. I wanted to give you a snapshot of what I've experienced since I arrived.

Celebrity Party Palooza

HubSpot pulled out all the stops for Inbound16, the speaker line up has been and continues to be incredible. I am listening to Michael Strahan right now, following a moving talk by Serena Williams and a clever analysis of personal narrative by Anna Kendrick. I have also heard Gary Vaynerchuk, experienced a passionate talk by Ta-Nahihi Coates and heard countless others divulge their expertise in niche elements of the marketing and sales experience.

From inspiring anecdotes from incredible career experiences, to heartening honesty about the hustle and life in 2016, it has been the most thought provoking Inbound I've attended and I am very grateful to be here.

The Next Step for Hughes & Co.

Outside of the glittering speaker lineup, I am here because I have aggressive growth plans and I want the support of my technology partner. We are here laying the groundwork that will propel Hughes & Co. to the next level, making big plans and arming the team with the tools and resources they need to expend their best ideas and boldest campaigns yet.

The way we sell is changing. The KPI of our marketing is changing. The integration of your sales and marketing is changing. We are on the cutting edge and we are leading the pack here. Our brief emails for why we were coming feel reiterated in every session. We knew where things were going before we arrived, and the clients who have permitted big leaps already are experiencing the marketing results that will sweep through partner agencies of Hubspot over the next several months.

It is a very exciting time for our agency. We recently welcomed Greg, Tiffany, Maggie and Kayla into the fold and what we're moving towards is fresh and fulfilling. We know that you will be as excited as we are.

Much love,

Allie
