Allie Hughes Named Brock University’s Most Outstanding Young Alumni

THOROLD, ON: Brock University’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes a graduate under 35 years of age in the first decade of his or her career who has made a significant impact in their field. This year’s winner is Hughes & Co. Inc. founder Allie Hughes.

Hughes, a St. Catharines native who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2009, founded digital marketing agency Hughes & Co. Inc. in 2011. Now headquartered on Front Street in Thorold, Hughes & Co. Inc. has become a million-dollar venture with clients from Niagara and around the globe. The agency is also a regular participant in Brock’s internship program.

“It is a special honour to be recognized with this award. My Brock experience continues to be a critical part of my success,” says Hughes. “I learned so much during my courses, but it was also the skills I was enabled to develop during my time at Brock like strategic planning, relationship building and leadership that truly shaped me and my career.”

Hughes was also recently recognized at halftime of the January 27 Brock basketball game at the Meridian Centre for her donation of an athletic scholarship to the women’s basketball team. The Outstanding Young Alumni Award is given out during the Grad Send-off event on February 6.

“I’ve cherished maintaining my relationship with Brock through the Fourth Year Internship program and the athletic scholarship,” says Hughes. “I’m looking forward to sharing my advice for entering the world of work and achieving success with the graduating class.”

Recent winners of the Outstanding Young Alumni award include YouTube personality Matthew Santoro and Kyle Dubas, Assistant General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
