Twitter is a great social media platform to use to grow your brand. It’s interactive, informative and fast moving. Twitter is also easy, but it isn’t necessarily easy to craft successful tweets that boost your brand.

Boosting your brand on Twitter means growing your customer base and driving followers to your website. Here are 7 ways in which you can improve your twitter campaigns.

Use clear and concise copy

Twitter is a fast moving medium, people scroll and they only engage with what catches their attention. Clear and concise copy means easy to scan language that tells your followers exactly what the link contains.

Link to content that is useful

Help your twitter audience solve their problems by offering links to useful content. At Hughes & Co. we provide our followers with tips of how to effectively market in a digital age. We know the value that we can provide to our followers by just solving their marketing problems.

Think about your audience, pinpoint an issue or problem and write a blog that helps them solve that issue. Or if you're not yet in the content generation game, link them to relevant content by industry leaders.

Tweet at the right times

Research shows that the highest click-through rate and retweet times are at 12 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm. Essentially tweeting in the afternoon is a good idea. Tweeting on the weekend is also a good idea. B2C marketing is the most successful on weekends and Wednesdays.

Provide customer service

Twitter has become the go to medium for customer requests and assistance. Providing customer service over twitter helps get the problem solved quickly and strengthens your relationship with not only the customer in need but all customers. It’s more important in this instance than any others to be timely.

Use visuals

Images are vital and smart twitter marketers include images in every tweet. If your goal is click throughs, then adding an image will make it 18% more likely that customers do click through. Tweets with images receive 150% more retweet and 89% more favourites, in other words, they are an essential.

Use hashtags

Tweets with hashtags spike your engagement and your visibility. Be smart with your hashtags and don’t over do it. A good number is one or two. It’s also smart to be aware of industry related hashtags so that you can join the conversation and increase engagement.

Use calls to action

Tell your followers exactly what to do with your tweet. A call to action can range from posing a question, to requesting a ‘retweet if’, to language like download, sign-up and get.
