Pretty & Co. Hair Studio is a boutique salon in the heart of St. Catharines, Ontario. Skilled in the art of making their clients feel good inside and out, the Pretty & Co. team decided it was time to pursue a new venture; Preveú - a clean, salon-quality line of hair care products - was new to the market and in need of a beautiful brand identity. Preveú’s founder, Sarah, wanted to create a brand that was feminine, empowering and reflective of its premium quality. Repeat client Pretty & Co. approached H&C Inc. to get the job done, inclusive of a new logo, brand guidelines, packaging design and Shopify website.
The H&C Inc. design team got straight to work, creating an equal parts bold and feminine logo, in the familiar Pretty & Co. pink theme. We pulled from the serif font family to feature a strong identifier with the crowned “p” while giving a nod to the salon's existing brand. A muted and bold palette permits universal application of the brand and allows for expansion into new potential product lines. We love this brand’s ability to use the punctuated element of the “ú” - driving home a cohesive visual standard on icon. The Preveú products were created with clean ingredients and contain no harsh chemicals. As such, it was important to have packaging that was simple, chic and uncluttered. Again, the use of the crowned ‘p’ provided a beautiful accent icon for the packaging with two styles to differentiate Preveú’s Milk Balm and Hair Polish. The next step was a brand new Shopify website to display the products on the eCommerce stage. Light and fresh, the simplicity of their new website provides an effortless user experience. Our favourite part? The Iconography, used to visually denote the unique selling points of this great new line of products.
