So you’ve created a LinkedIn account for your business, and you’re probably wondering, "What now?"

LinkedIn for Businesses can be tricky when it comes to driving engagement and increasing your network, but with the right content in place you’ll be well on your way to creating a credible profile and networking resource for your company.

Here are a few LinkedIn must-haves to get the most out of your Business Profile!


A great way to take your LinkedIn profile to the next level, is by having an unmatched profile summary and business description. This summary should explain exactly what your company does and why you do it - without compromising on your unique abilities.

While you’re updating your summary, it’s important to give your profile a quick once-over to ensure that all necessary information has been entered. Completed business profiles are more likely to be viewed by 30%, than those that have left some boxes unchecked.

After you’ve ensured that your profile summary, description, tagline, and buttons are completed, it’s time to get posting!

Creating content for your LinkedIn page can sound daunting, but it doesn’t have to be - remember that your network is interested in what your company has to offer! Posting exciting industry updates or interesting trends and how your company plans to react can help you increase engagement with your network, and stand out from the crowd. Don’t forget about hashtags! Including hashtags in your profile description and summary can help you get noticed and increase your network.

Another great way to engage with your network throughout your content is by posting and tagging updates about your employee relationships and achievements. This could be anything from an anniversary date with your company, to award-winning content and even an authentic congratulations to the experts in your field.

One major, and usually under utilized capability, that your Business Profile has is the ability to create showcase pages. A showcase page is essentially a hero page that you can direct connections from your network to. These pages are essential for showcasing specific projects, forms, or even downloadable resources for your industry. Cisco, HP and Microsoft are all doing an amazing job at utilizing showcase pages.

One last important aspect of your content is of course, job postings. Are you hiring? Posting new jobs or volunteer positions onto your LinkedIn Business Profile is an excellent way to ensure that candidates in your industry can find them! 


Encourage your employees to include their workplace onto their personal profiles, share your business’ content on LinkedIn and other social media platforms. This will increase the connectivity of your LinkedIn Business Profile, and leave your seal of approval for the content shared within your network.

By creating personal connections, this can provide your company with a new stream to access some qualified leads for your business. Engage with each new connection via InMail - but don’t use boring templates or generic greetings. This will make your connections a bit more personal, and increase your chances of receiving a reply from interested members of your network.

As impressive as your newly renovated LinkedIn Business profile may be, there’s no denying the power that personal, employee connections will have for your company.
